Spring Highlights
21st May 2025

If you like the scent of lilac blossom and the beautiful vision of bright yellow Laburnum racemes, now is the time to come down to the nursery and see what could look good in your garden. We’re busy watering due to the dry weather, but container grown trees can be planted through spring and summer.

In other news, we are proud to announce our push to use recycled containers! Growing trees in pots does mean that we rely on plastic – there’s just not a viable alternative yet – but we want to be as green as possible and minimise our reliance on new materials. We grow peat-free and we recycle everything we can.
Another exciting happening is that one of our majestic large field maples has winged its way to the Bristol Old Vic theatre as part of an installation related to current show, The Beautiful Future is Coming. They also spoke to our director, Simon Scarth: Trees Company - Chew Valley Trees put roots down in… | Bristol Old Vic. Come and see what a transformation has taken place at the nursery since Simon was playing in a sandpit amongst the docks!
