Trees for planting by the sea

If you’re lucky enough to live within a stone’s throw of the sea, you may enjoy coastal views from the comfort of your home, but your trees will have to directly face up to brisk breezes and salty winds. Many plants can suffer under these conditions, but there is a good selection of trees and shrubs that will cope with the onslaught and provide shelter for the rest of your garden. If you need something tough, choose from this list!
