Perhaps the best known of magnolias, this small shrubby tree produces its large, goblet-shaped flowers during April before, and as, the leaves emerge. Flower colour can vary from deep, rose-pink to pale pink. Several wide-spreading stems. Grow in well-drained, fertile soil, in full sun or partial shade in a sheltered spot.
