Small, semi-evergreen tree. Many visitors to the nursery are looking for an evergreen tree for screening but do not want a conifer. The multi-talented Cotoneaster ‘Cornubia’ is a semi-evergreen, holding its leaves throughout the year apart from the coldest of winters (a rarity these days). In such a case it will lose some, or possibly all, of its leaves. It produces a display of frothy, white flowers in June favoured by bees and butterflies, followed later in the year by clusters of large, bright red berries. Its glossy, dark green leaves are long and narrow on arching branches providing a useful screen. Full sun or light shade and well-drained soil.
