What size to choose
Once trees are bigger than about 6-8ft they are measured on the circumference of the girth 3ft above the ground. The overall height in feet generally equates to the girth size in centimetres see the table below. Although the largest size we list is 12-14cm girth we do have larger specimens of many trees. Generally each increase in girth size represents a year’s growth. A consideration for trees 12-14cm girth and above can be access to the planting site; they can be heavy and difficult to move without mechanical help. If you are planting them yourself and have minimal experience of tree planting an 8-10 cm girth is the largest we would recommend. We can easily fit 6-8cm girth and 15L trees into any car and often 8-10cm and 30L ones too.
